Silence

📝 Taken from today’s morning journal. Journaling is a great way to let your thoughts flow out and see where it takes you.

Close by the forest we sit softly, legs crossed, aware of the ground beneath. The cold, damp temperature slowly moves up from the ground into the skin and bone. A coldness is felt in the mind and then the hands and then the heart. It slows ever so slightly. The breath grasp in, sharp and clean. Eyes widen and lips tighten.

And for a moment … silence.

Then the body stills as the air collects in the lungs.

Small particles absorb into the blood and flows through, now warmed ..

Again the muscles relax, push the diaphragm down as air rises renewed .. lips tingle as the warm internal air hits the cold air outside. Mist forms, a collection of contradictions. A new age is born … and for a moment we sit vulnerable not knowing if this is indeed the last breath out.

For life is fragile and full of wonder. As we step softly within its grasp.
